Editor's note: Vote throughout the week and a winner will be announced next week. You can vote once per 24 hours at each of our three sites, the Santa Maria Times, Lompoc Record as well as the Santa Ynez Valley News. The totals from all three sits will be combined to determine the winner.

You can pencil in most of these guys on the SMT Player of the Week poll every week.

These are the usual suspects.

Dustin Gregg continues to have one of the better quarterback seasons I can remember seeing in my eight seasons of covering high school football on the Central Coast.

Jayden Vargas has had a remarkable two-game stretch leading St. Joseph's rushing attack.

Gabe Prendergast, Gregg's Santa Ynez teammate, does just about everything just about every week.

Then we have Blake Truhitte who takes that approach to a different level on offense, powering the Saints to a big Northern League win at Templeton while accounting for 7 total TDs.

Then on the defensive side, there's Caleb Thomas, who helped the Warriors stifle Atascadero in a 20-7 PAC 5 League win with 2.5 sacks and eight tackles.

So here are the SMT Player of the Week candidates:

(PLEASE HAVE YOUR COACHES ADD YOUR STATS ON MAXPREPS OR EMAIL/TEXT THEM TO ME SO I CAN LIST ALL DESERVING CANDIDATES HERE!)
