SANTA MONICA 7 Hancock College freshman Bobbie Patton won three times at Western State Conference Meet No. 3 Friday. She set a school women/s track record along the way.
Latiffia Taylor won twice and finished second once, setting two school records along the way.
Patton won the shot put at 44-9 1/2, a school record. She also took the discus at 122-0 and the javelin with a throw of 104-11.
Hancock/s women finished second to Cuesta in the five-team meet. The Bulldog men were third.
Cuesta/s women scored 85 points. Hancock had 66.
Taylor set a school record with a winning long jump of 16-11. She set another school record in the hurdles, finishing second at 14.74 in the official book.
"She crossed the line first," said Hancock coach Luis Quintana. "I/ll have to ask them about that."
Taylor won the triple jump at 33-3 1/4.
In a strong 1,500 meter field, Kelly Wolfe finished fourth at 5:08.
The Bulldog men finished third, with Cuesta also taking that division. Darrin Tullis won the 400 intermediate hurdles in 58.3, and Mike Lopez took the 100 in 11.22.
Hancock/s winning 1,600 relay meter relay team consisted of Kevin Loung, David Berg, Lopez and Tullis. The quartet ran 3:29.2.
Three of Hancock/s four 1,600 relay winners also ran in the 400 relay. Trevor Shamblee led off. Tullis ran seocnd, Loung ran thidr and Lopez anchored. The quartet ran 43.7.
Lopez, who graduated from St. Josseph, finished second in 22.8 in the 200.
