LOS ANGELES (AP) — A two-story building on the Venice Beach boardwalk was heavily damaged by fire early Wednesday, but no injuries were reported, Los Angeles authorities said.
The fire began at a homeless camp and extended into the vacant 68-year-old structure on Ocean Front Walk, Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
The fire threatened two neighboring buildings but firefighters prevented any damage.
The blaze was extinguished after more than two hours, leaving the building unstable.
