Wildfire burns 2 acres Sunday in Nipomo

A wildfire burned just under 2 acres of grass in oak woodland around noon Sunday in Nipomo, according to Cal Fire/San Luis Obispo County Fire Department.

The fire was reported about 11:37 a.m. on Cimarron Way north of North Thompson Avenue and east of Highway 101, a Cal Fire/SLO County Fire spokesman said.

In addition to Cal Fire crews, units from the Santa Maria Fire Department and the Five Cities Fire Authority responded to the blaze.

Firefighters had the flames under control by 12:10 p.m., the spokesman said. 

The cause is still under investigation.
