Speaking as part of Read Across America, a nationwide celebration of reading, Trine told a cafeteria filled with Battles elementary students that he was "accidentally exposed" to reading after college when he took a job cleaning windows at Ventura bookstore. Now an accomplished author with multiple books and several short stories published in a variety of children's magazines, Trine said his new career — one filled with stories of child superheros — is fueled by his childhood experiences and made possible by learning as much as he could through reading other books.
