Two Santa Maria residents were arrested Tuesday for allegedly trafficking methamphetamine after Santa Barbara County sheriff's officials discovered over an ounce of the substance at a home in the 1300 block of Solomon Road.
Detectives with the sheriff's Special Investigations Bureau initiated a search of the residence after concluding its investigation into subjects trafficking methamphetamine in the Santa Maria Valley and Lompoc area.
Zachary Lockett, 21, and Gavin Schwartz, 63, both of Santa Maria, were arrested for allegedly possessing methamphetamine for sale. Additionally, Lockett was taken into custody for an outstanding probation warrant, according to sheriff's officials.
Both suspects were booked into custody at the Santa Barbara County Jail. Lockett is being held without bail, and Schwartz is being held on $100,000 bail.
