Two storms are expected to bring light to moderate rain and cold temperatures to most areas of Santa Barbara County on Friday night and Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Though rainfall rates for both storms are forecast to be below the thresholds for debris flows in recent burn areas, there is a slight chance of thunderstorms with brief, heavy downpours and small hail possible.

The first storm is forecast to run into early Saturday morning and the second storm is expected to arrive Sunday, with peak rainfall rates between 4 a.m. and noon.

A county spokesman said residents should stay alert to changing conditions and use caution when driving.
