Angelo Xavier Lenetti arrived six minutes after midnight Monday in Santa Maria, just in time to become the first baby born in Santa Barbara County in 2018.

Born at Marian Regional Medical Center, Angelo weighed in at 7 pounds, 7 ounces and measured 19¾ inches long.

Angelo's mother, Love Lenetti, and father, Devin Lenetti, of Santa Maria, are celebrating Angelo's unexpected New Year's arrival. He is the first baby for each of the parents, who joked just days ago about the possibility of welcoming the county's first baby of the year.

"This is a new experience for me and my husband," Love said. "We are very excited about his arrival."

To help celebrate with the family, Marian staff presented mom, dad and baby with a gift basket filled with goodies and essentials.

The Maternal and Newborn Center at Marian includes private labor and delivery, as well as recovery, suites, equipped with advanced equipment to ensure the safety of mother and baby. Additionally, the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides specialized care for newborns who require extra attention.
