Santa Maria Police officers and the SWAT team responded to an Orcutt home in the 1100 block of Kit Way on Tuesday after locating a suspect who had allegedly led officers on a pursuit earlier in the day.

Santa Maria Police have arrested an armed woman who barricaded herself in a home in Orcutt on Tuesday. 

Officials confirmed the woman, who was identified late Tuesday night, was taken into custody at 8:55 p.m.

No details of the arrest were available at press time.

Just after 3 p.m., officers from the Santa Maria Police Department and Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office arrived at the 1100 block of Kit Way — between Lorencita Drive and Valley Drive — in the Village Hills neighborhood.

The woman had an outstanding felony warrant and was involved in a police pursuit earlier in the day, officials at the scene said.

Police, emergency medical crew and personnel with the County Fire Department set up an incident command post in the St. Joseph High School parking lot.

Residents in the immediate area of Kit Way were advised to remain indoors.
