Orcutt Burger will make a donation to Bald for Lexi from the sales Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. The event is being held to mark two months until the third annual Bald for Lexi head-shaving event March 19.

New Team Lexi T-shirts will be sold during both events and 100 percent of the proceeds benefit childhood cancer research. Orcutt Burger, located at 1099 E. Clark Ave., is one of 15 local sponsors selling the T-shirt.

Bald for Lexi is an event where participants shave their heads to raise money for childhood cancer research, in memory of Lexi Brown, an Orcutt resident, died last May after a battle with cancer.

According to Kelly McLoughlin, St. Baldrick’s volunteer organizer, donations raised at events like these have made it possible for the organization to donate more than $178 million to support development of childhood cancer treatments.
