The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County will hold distribution events next week on Wednesday and Friday for federal employees impacted by the government shutdown.

The events — which will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in Santa Maria and Santa Barbara — are intended to assist federal employees who missed regular paychecks Friday due to the partial government shutdown that began Dec. 22. 

No identification is required and immediate family members can pick up food on behalf of a federal employee, a food bank spokeswoman said.

The food bank’s Santa Maria distributions will be held at 490 W. Foster Road and Santa Barbara distributions at 4554 Hollister Ave.
