Emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle crash Saturday night on Bonita School Road, west of Santa Maria.

At about 8:30 p.m., the Santa Maria Fire Department responded to a report that a gray vehicle crashed into a telephone pole alongside Bonita School Road near the area of West Main Street, according to emergency radio traffic.

When firefighters arrived, they reportedly found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

The fire traveled to the telephone, but not to the surrounding vegetation, according to officials at the scene.

No other vehicle was involved, and no injuries were reported, officials said.

Bonita School Road was closed briefly while crews put out the fire and a tow truck removed the vehicle.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
