A suspect has been identified in a January armed robbery, and the Santa Maria Police Department is asking for the public’s help to locate him.
Detectives have obtained a felony robbery arrest warrant for Miguel Estevan Tovar, 21, of Santa Maria, who has also been known to frequent Nipomo and Guadalupe.
The armed robbery took place in late January in northwest Santa Maria, and an extensive investigation led detectives to identify Tovar as the suspect, a Police Department spokesman said.
Tovar is considered armed and dangerous, so anyone who sees him should not approach or try to detain him, a Police Department spokesman said. Instead, the person should call 911 to alert authorities.
Detectives are asking anyone with any information about Tovar to call the Santa Maria Police Department at 928-3781 any time, day or night, to speak to an officer.
