The case against a 42-year-old Santa Ynez Valley youth soccer coach accused of sex crimes against a child was continued Monday until Jan. 28.
Buellton resident Jose Luis Diaz Diaz, who was arrested on May 6 in Solvang, has been out of custody since posting bond on $100,000 bail at the Santa Barbara County Jail. He is represented by Santa Maria defense attorney Michael Scott.
Diaz pleaded not guilty in July to charges including committing a lewd lewd act on a child aged 14 or 15 by a person 10 years older than the child and three violations alleging unlawful oral copulation with a minor by a person over the age of 21. The crimes are alleged to have taken place in the Santa Ynez Valley between August and November of 2013.
Deputy District Attorney Jennifer Karapetian is prosecuting the case against Diaz.
