Billy is a big orange boy with big orange eyes. During the day, he is a lazy kitty that enjoys the companionship of his roommate Mango. They can always be caught sleeping with or grooming each other. At night, Billy turns into an explorer. He is a night owl looking for a family that will understand his odd sleeping habits. Billy’s ideal home would be one that is quiet and where he will have other kitty companions. If you’re looking for a friend for your feline then look no further, Billy can make friends with any kitty.
Black is the new beautiful! Molly and Burt are all black domestic short hair kitties. They are both 6 months old and love to explore and play in their room. Molly and Burt usually keep to themselves and do not demand much attention. They keep each other company and are a joy to watch when they play together. If you're looking for a 2 cat combo then come on over and check out these two.
Calvin is a gorgeous 6 1/2 year old American Shorthair. He is frequently found lounging in our life-size cat tree, lounging clearly being his favorite activity. Calvin enjoys other cats, having lived in a home with a cat sibling previously. *Calvin’s adoption fee has been paid by a Guardian Angel.*
Carrie is learning how to accept love. She came into our care with very little social skills. Since then, with the help of our open paw program, Carrie will now accept pets and will eat treats and wet food from human hands. Her progress has been slow but we are very happy with the milestones she has made. Carrie is looking for a home that will continue her socialization training and give her the love that she deserves. She is looking for a kind, gentle and understanding individual that has the patients she will need to keep making progress. If you don’t mind taking home a kitty that needs some extra TLC then come over and meet Carrie. Even if she is not the perfect match for you, any extra attention will go a long way for this girl.
Dodger is a happy, active dog whose biggest flaw, if you can even call it that, is being too friendly! Dodger seems to like everyone & greets you with body wiggles & tail wags. Dodger can be alright with doggie playmates but we really suggest to bring any K-9 friend in for a meet and greet. He is one sweet boy with a wonderful personality. Dodger would be a fantastic family dog as he does great with children, loves to play and enjoys cuddle time. Come out to our adoption center and say hello to this handsome man.
Dora is beautiful and she knows it. This diva of a cat struts around the room like she owns the place. She loves attention like head pets and brushing but only on her terms. She lets us know when she wants affection and she also tells us when she is finished. This girl would love a home that will spoil and pamper her. She prefers to be the only cat but she could tolerate a home with a kitty friend, just as long she can still remain the princess that she is. If you're looking for a kitty friend that has some cattitude and is a little sassy then look no further, Dora is your girl.
Esperanza, our diva cat, is sweet and sour. She is very independent and does not require much attention. For the most part, Esperanza just likes to do her own thing. Some of the things she enjoys are long laps, big fluffy bedding, catnip, and wet food and feather toys. Boy does she like her wet food. Esperanza is one of our chubbiest kitties that we have. When she plays, she will waddle across her room and stand on her hind legs to catch the toy. It is definitely a sight to see. Come out and meet this big sassy kitty. Maybe she can have some catnip so you can really see how funny she can get.
Fiona is a cross-eyed cutie who is as sweet as can be! When you walk into her room, she immediately wants to meet you and make friends. She loves being pet -- scratch her behind the ears and she'll just close her eyes and purrrrrr. Fiona loves toys and would love someone to play with her! Meet this adorable girl and be prepared to fall in love! *Fiona's adoption fee has been paid for by a Guardian Angel*
Gizmo, Diamond, and Storm are the last three cats of a group of 13 that were surrendered. Their owners looked to us for assistance in rehoming them. Since then, almost all 13 found a new loving home but these three have yet to find that perfect someone. All three kitties can be shy at first but the want for love and affection is inside of them. Gizmo will chat at newcomers and be curious. Storm enjoys lounging in his bed and will make "biscuits" when someone pets him. Diamond is the most social of the group. She likes to look out windows and greet people who visit her. All three of these cuties are waiting to be taken home and be loved like they deserve. Will you stop on by and give them affection? Who knows, one or more may win your heart.
If you are looking for an active partner to go on walks, runs or hikes with you, come and meet Jazmine. She is a beauty with a true zest for life. Jazmine enjoys being out in the yard and running around playing. She is smart and would do best in a home where she has things to do which keep her challenged. So daily exercise is key. Jazmine gets along well with adults but is not a fan of children so she needs a home with older kids or adults only. If you have another dog, bring your friend to see if Jazmine is a good match. She may like a canine companion. Jazmine would love to find her forever home soon as she has been patiently waiting for a while. You can meet Jazmine at Santa Maria Valley Humane Society, located at 1687 West Stowell Road in Santa Maria on Wednesday through Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm.

Mango! She's a flame point Siamese with looks to kill. Mango has very soft fur; petting her can be addictive. She is a mellow girl that enjoys the simple things in life. Mango doesn't demand much attention and usually does her own thing. She has reached her 30 days in shelter marker this month. She cannot wait to have a home of her own. Stop on by and meet this beautiful girl. Mango is always ready for head pets.
Misty is a curious and playful senior who lived with cats and chickens in her previous home. According to her previous family, she did not mind the additional animal friends. They also noted that although cats and chickens were fine with her she could be a little shy and meticulous about her k-9 friends. We encourage a meet and greet before adopting. Don’t let Misty’s age fool you, she may be older but she is quite the active gal. She loves her toys, going for car rides, running, & playing in water. She's friendly & playful with all people--large & small. Come out and meet Misty for yourself!
Panda is a very shy but is an incredibly sweet 4 year old girl. She has a beautiful face that she likes to hide but when you open yourself to her and pet her gently she will come out and show herself to you. She would like to find a nice, quiet home. She is timid around other cats and animals but she is friendly. Once she opens up she loves to rub and love on you and enjoys to be pet for hours. Spend some one on one gentle, quiet time with Panda to have her be your new best friend and companion.
RJ is a big o’ orange tabby who likes to lay in the sun and watch the birdies out the window. He enjoys the simple things in life, a comfortable bed, yummy food and space to explore. Rj is shy but very independent. He does his own thing and doesn’t require much attention. He is not an ideal lap cat but he would be great as a companion that will sleep at the edge of your bed or hangout next to you on the couch. If you’re looking for a big orange squishy kitty like Garfield then come out and meet RJ. You may want to look up when visiting his room because he also enjoys climbing.
Say hello to Sasha. She is a very petite kitty that will most likely stay that way. Sasha is a sweet girl with a mellow personality. She enjoys a calm environment and would be perfect for an older person(s). She can be a bit shy and will need time to adjust to her new environment. We know there is someone out there that will help Sasha understand that she can be loved. Give this sweet girl a chance and help her bloom into a confident new kitty. You can meet Sasha at our adoption center, 1687 W. Stowell, Santa Maria, Wed-Sun from 11a to 6p.
Squeeks is 14 years young and looking for love! This senior kitty is spending his golden years in a shelter when he would much rather be spending them with you. He has quite the personality; he likes to be social and the center of attention. This kitty would make the perfect wonderful lap cat. He is also social with other kitties and doesn’t mind feline company. Squeeks may be older but he is easy going and he could be a great match for any home.
Toby is one big kitty! He has what we call “Tom Cat” face because of his big cheeks. Toby is just experiencing living indoors and everyday human interaction for the first time in his life. He was found as a stray when he was younger. His caregiver looked after him whenever he came around and even participated in TNR. Over time, Toby became use to his caregiver and human contact. Unfortunately, his caregiver could no longer look after him and now he is on a new journey in life. Toby is looking for a family that will give him time to adjust. He enjoys kitty companions for the most part but can be picky. Toby becomes a loving and social cat with over time. Once he trusts you, he would be your buddy and lay on his side for pets. Come out and give Toby a chance, his pudgy face and sweet but shy personality might win you over.
At night we have a feeling that Toto closes his eyes, taps his paws and tells himself, “there’s no place like home”. Toto has hit the unlucky dog jackpot as not only is he 10 years old but he also has a few medical conditions due to his age. Being a shelter dog this can make it hard for him to find his forever family but every day he wakes up with a cute old man smile on his face and greets every person that passes his kennel. Toto is not giving up on his dream of a forever family. He knows they are out there. He may be an older pup but he still enjoys playing with stuffed animals, eating treats and to going on walks. He seems to get along with everyone and has a mellow personality. He can do well in any type of home. Please help us spread Toto’s story and hopefully soon he will find his happily ever after.
Zeke is a well-mannered, charming boy who walks nicely on a leash. He is a smart and curious dog who will sit by your side and watch the world go by, but he also has enough energy to play tug or go for that weekend hike or beach trip. If you’re looking for a dog that will truly be your best friend then give Zeke a chance. He is looking to have a family all his own.
Zimba is a sweet loving dog who does not know her own size. Zimba can play rough with other dog so larger dogs would make a better playmate for this girl. She also will lick faces, grab at toys and try to sit in laps. Do to her size and her play style her ideal home would be with adults or older teens. Her favorite thing to do is play in the yard until she is nice and tired, after that she will turn into a snuggle bug. Zimba is a good girl looking for a home that would not mind helping her learn what acceptable play is. She has been looking for that dog savvy person since July 2018. Come on over and see if Zimba’s love and play is just what you’re looking for. *My Adoption fee has been paid for by a Guardian Angel*
