Three local students made the academic deans' list for the 2018 fall semester at Azusa Pacific University, by achieving a GPA of 3.5 or better. Joined by 1,976 other students receiving the same honor, they are:

  • Halen Borges, of Santa Maria;
  • Samantha Peachey, of Arroyo Grande; and
  • Hunter Roberts, of Arroyo Grande.

Azusa Pacific University is an evangelical Christian university that offers 61 bachelor's degrees, 45 master's degrees, 24 certificates, 12 credentials and eight doctoral programs. It enrolls over 10,000 students at seven regional locations throughout Southern California.

Andrew Galassi, of Arroyo Grande, earned the distinction of faculty honors for fall 2018 at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 4.0 GPA for the semester.

More than 25,000 undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled at Georgia Tech, in Atlanta, Georgia, which ranked in the nation's top 10 public universities by U.S. News and World Report.
