Brian D. McIntyre, age 56, passed away on Monday June 25th from a brief illness with his family by his side. Brian was the son of the late James McIntyre and Margaret McIntyre of Pawtucket, RI. He was the husband of Laura McIntyre.
Brian joined the U.S. Air Force in 1982 and was stationed at Vandenberg in Lompoc, California. While there he met Laura and together they put down roots.
Brain went back to school after the Air Force to get a college degree and ensure a better life for him and his future family. After he graduated from Cal Poly, he was employed as a civil engineer for the County of Santa Barbara, Public Works Dept.
Brian will always be remembered as a loving, free spirit. He loved his family dearly and had a great passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed riding waves at the beach, hiking the hills and biking with his family. He was self-motivated and taught himself to play the guitar, which he showcased every night. Brian was witty, with a warm sense of humor.
Brian leaves behind his loving wife, Laura, his two children, Cassandra and Ian as well as the family cat Fuzzy. He leaves behind seven siblings and many extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Mission Hope Cancer Center would be much appreciated as well as donations to your local Blood Center.
A celebration of life will take place on July 15th at Waller Park, area 7, from 1pm to 4pm for those who would like to join Brian's family in remembrance.
