Bernice Evelyn Buckler, age 85, passed away in New Plymouth, Idaho, on September 21st, 2017 after a brief illness. Bernice was born in Michigan in 1932 and moved to Santa Maria, California, with her husband Nick Buckler, Sr, and children in 1960.

Bernice worked at Loop's restaurant before working at Alice Shaw Elementary School and Orcutt School as the cafeteria manager until her retirement, after which she joined GenSpan as a volunteer grandmother until 2013.

Bernice was predeceased by her husband Nicholas E. Buckler Sr. in 1993, daughter Bernice (aka Teen) in 2006, and son Kirk in 2015. She is survived by her brothers Tom, Jim, and Jack, sisters Mary and Kathy, and children Nick Jr., (Debora), Rod, Keith (Debbie), Linda (Ralph) and son-in-law Frank, as well as 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Bernice always took time to share her happiness and inspire those around her to laugh and smile. She loved spending time with her family, fishing and hunting with her husband, and especially playing and singing music and jamming with her family and her band.

A graveside service is planned for the summer of 2018.
