A balanced vote total across all three Lee Central Coast Newspapers websites landed Santa Ynez quarterback Dustin Gregg the Player of the Week award.

Gregg edged out Santa Maria running back Isiah Garcia. Gregg had 272 total votes, in front of Garcia's total of 202. 

Garcia led the voting on with 185 total votes. But Gregg wasn't far behind with 167 votes on But Gregg beat Garcia 96-8 on his home site, On, Gregg and Garcia each finished with nine votes.

Lompoc sophomore Leondre Coleman had an impressive Week Zero showing and finished third with 130 total votes. Coleman had 30 on, 21 on and 79 on his home site,

Gregg, Garcia and Coleman all had worthy performances, but Gregg's voters did just enough to put him over the top.

Gregg's debut as the starting quarterback was an explosive one, as he completed 14 of 18 passes for 230 yards and 2 TDs. He also had 2 carries for 16 yards.

Garcia had an all-around game, producing on both offense and defense. Garcia needed just eight carries to rack up 106 yards and two TDs. He also had three tackles and an INT on defense.

Coleman had 3.5 sacks for the Braves in a dominant win over AG last week.
