SMSC continues to swim in Indy

INDIANAPOLIS -- Mike Ashmore said his Santa Maria Swim Club members had a good day in Indy at the NCSA Summer Championships on Thursday at the IUPUI campus.

Wyatt Marsalek had a lifetime best time in the 200 freestyle, but was not able to make the final. Blake Simpson did the same.

Saray Brown and Izzy Fraire both swam in the 50-meter breaststroke, which Ashmore said is "mostly just a fun event."

Ashmore added that his team's highlight of the day was Marcos Hillje-Enthoven's swim in the 200-meter butterfly where he just missed out on the final by six hundredths of a second.

"But he went a best time and qualified for the USA Winter Junior Nationals in Iowa in December," Ashmore said.
