Santa Maria Elks Lodge #1538 honored the winners of its annual Soccer Shoot competition with an awards dinner on Monday, Sept. 25.

The local champions completed their competition on Saturday, Sept. 23.

The champions now advance to the West Central Coast District competition at the San Luis Obispo Elks Lodge on Sunday, October 15.

The West Central Coast District is made up of 12 Elks lodges from Paso Robles to Simi Valley who will also be sending their first place winners to the next round of the competition.

The Elks held two days of competition on Saturdays Sept. 9 and 23 at Orcutt Academy and Adam Park, respectively.

There were separate contests for boys and girls in five different age groups; 7-and-under, 8-9 years, 10-11 years, 12-13 and, new this year, 14-15 years.

The top three finishers in each age division received medals and a soccer ball presented to them at the awards dinner.
