It was a clean sweep for Lompoc High’s track and field teams on Wednesday — knocking off both Morro Bay and Orcutt Academy in its three-way meet at Huyck Stadium.
Head coach Claudia Terrones called the outing a great win by both the boys' and girls' teams — plus one of them continues its undefeated march in Los Padres League play.
“The boys remained undefeated as we head into our last LPL match against Santa Ynez and Cabrillo on Wednesday,” Terrones said, who adds the girls are also in the hunt for an outright LPL title with a 4-1 league mark. “Everyone came ready to compete and gave it their all.”
On the field, Jovanny Lucatero was a dual winner — taking first in the shot put and discus. Oscar Tenorio was another double winner with wins in the 400 meter run and with the 4x100 relay team along with Ryan Morgan, Alex Gonzalez and Shemar Savage. Gonzalez also won the 110 meter and 300 meter hurdles.
The girls saw Casidy Cunningham win a quartet of events: The 100, 200, the long jump and high jump. The 4x100 relay team of Ayziah Simmons, Cheri Battle, Leah Reyes and Kylie Yanez also took first.
