The Warriors boys golf team (4-0, 1-0) stayed perfect on the year as it rolled to a win at Rancho Maria, their home course, in their PAC 8 League opener on Tuesday afternoon.

Medalist Brandan Pita led Righetti with a 76. Scoring teammates following were Keith Moles (76), Raleigh Wineman (84), Dino Maldonado (85) and Connor Rickman (86).

Cooper Armas led Atascadero with an 81. Scoring Greyhounds following were Brandon Ericson (83), Ryan O'Neel (88), Matt Larson (90) and Hugh Bunte (92).

Arroyo Grande 393, Mission Prep 481

Medalist Conner Sandman led the Eagles (2-1, 1-0) to victory at Dairy Creek in San Luis Obispo in their PAC 8 League opener.

Sandman shot a 70 to lead three Eagles under 80. Jack Avrit and Raleigh Deering both came in at 79. Tristan Bergman-Lagano carded an 80, and Brady MacMurphey rounded out Arroyo Grande’s scoring with an 85.

Boys volleyball

Arroyo Grande 3, Nipomo 0

The Eagles rolled to a 25-4, 25-10, 25-11 win at home.

Keanu Morrison led the way with 14 kills. He also had six aces.

Conner Howard added eight kills and six more aces as Hunter Roberts dished out 28 assists.

Ryan Meffert had four aces for the Eagles, who are now 2-1 overall. They went 5-2 over two days at the San Luis Obispo Tournament. The tournament games do not count toward the team's overall record.

The Eagles play at San Luis Obispo Thursday at 6 p.m. in their first PAC 8 League game.

“We had a strong tournament on Friday and Saturday, we did well against better teams,” Arroyo Grande coach Laurel Allen said. “We got some great experience and that’s just what we needed.”

Templeton 3, St. Joseph 0

The Eagles swept the Knights (0-2) 25-14, 25-17, 25-23 in a non-league match at St. Joseph’s Hofschulte Gym.

Joel Ashor had five kills and five assists for the Knights. Brandon Cantor made 10 digs. Matthew Plummer had nine assists.

Righetti 3, Morro Bay 0

Matthew Laflin racked up 15 kills as the Warriors swept the Pirates 25-14, 25-21, 25-16 in a non-league match at Righetti.

Aaron Laflin, Matthew's brother, amassed 15 assists, seven kills, seven digs and five service aces. Richie Ortiz had 16 assists and six digs, and Juian Azevedo made 14 digs.

Jake Weaver added five kills for the Warriors.

Santa Ynez 3, Pioneer Valley 0

"We won the mythical Central Coast Tournament championship," said Santa Ynez coach Chip Fenenga after the Pirates (4-1) swept the Panthers 25-16, 25-20, 25-14 in a non-league match at Pioneer Valley.

Blake Lockhart racked up 11 kills for Santa Ynez. Spencer Gomez had six blocks and three kills. Richard Christiansen led Santa Ynez in digs with 11 and served two aces.

"We set the ball extremely well tonight," said Fenenga. "Richard passed the ball magnificently."

Santa Maria 114, Pioneer Valley 50

Jesse Sanchez won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:05.16 and took the 100 freestyle in 58.39 as the Saints squared their record at 1-1 with a non-league win at their Karl Bell Aquatic Center.

Ian Gransky won the 50 freestyle in 55.55 and the 100 butterfly in 1:05.75 for Pioneer Valley.

Girls swimming

Pioneer Valley 111, Santa Maria 54

Maddie Diaz earned a double for the victorious Panthers as she won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:19.00 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:19.50.

Alyssa Villa earned the lone win for the Saints (0-2), taking the 100 freestyle in 1:14.
