As schools enter the final week of the winter season, the Righetti Warriors, Cabrillo Conquistadores and Lompoc Braves remain at the top of the CIF Southern Section Division 2A girls basketball poll.
The Warriors have been holding steady in the No. 1 spot all season with Aliso Niguel sitting at No. 2.
The two Lompoc Valley schools continue right behind with Cabrillo still No. 3 and Lompoc No. 4 heading into the final week of league play.
There are a number of local girls teams showing up in the latest vote that was released by the CIF-SS Monday afternoon, putting each of them in prime position for playoff spots.
In Division 2AA, Arroyo Grande is the No. 15 team while in 3A, San Luis Obispo sits at No. 13.
Nipomo is the ninth ranked squad in Division 4AA with Santa Ynez sitting at 12 and Templeton 13 in Division 4A.
Division 6 has Arroyo Grande’s Coastal Christian in a tie for 12th with Cambria’s Coast Union in a tie for 14th.
Mission Prep and St. Joseph are bunched together in Division 2AA with Mission Prep the No. 6 ranked team and St. Joseph at No. 7.
Division 3A has three ranked local schools – Cabrillo at No. 7, Atascadero at 12 and Arroyo Grande at 14.
Santa Ynez and Santa Maria are both in the Division 4A poll with Santa Ynez voted into the No. 11 position and Santa Maria hitting No. 13.
Morro Bay is the No. 9i team in Division 5AA while Coast Union remains the top ranked team in 5A.
And three small schools are in the Division 6 rankings – Cuyama Valley is No. 9, Shandon is No. 11 and Valley Christian Academy is No. 16.
Girls Water Polo
Santa Ynez continues to earn voted for the top spot in Division 7 of girls water polo with Atascadero sitting in the No. 3 spot in the same division.
Paso Robles is ranked second in Division 6, Righetti’s girls are No. 4 in Division 3 and Arroyo Grande is the No. 7 team in Division 2.
The Dunn School cracked the Top Ten in this week’s boys soccer rankings, coming in as the No. 4 squad in Division 6 while San Luis Obispo continues its Top Ten run in girls soccer, coming in at No. 7 in Division 2.
This is the final week of the CIF-SS’s winter rankings.
Playoff brackets will be coming out over the weekend with the playoffs kicking off next week.
