HAYWARD — Nine games in, the Hancock College men's soccer team has won more games than it did in all of 2016.

The Bulldogs moved to 6-2-1 for 2017 by defeating Chabot College 4-1 Friday in a non-conference game at Chabot.

Migel Gomez assisted on Hancock's second and third goals and scored the last one. Gomez assisted Ulysses Cardona and Mario Delgado on Hancock scores. Cardona assisted on the Gomez goal.

Joseph Goryance scored the first goal of the game, an unassisted one. The Bulldogs led 1-0 at halftime.

Hancock goalkeeper Antony Herrera had to make just two saves.

BAKERSFIELD — Hancock College finished fourth in a six-team field.

"I was very happy with our performance," Hancock coach Louie Quintana said.

Brianna Magana led the Bulldogs with an 18th-place finish in 23 minutes, 27 seconds. Maria Uvalle (19th place), ALina Delabra (23rd), Susana Vasquez (28th) and Yadira Castellanos (32nd) followed.
