Orcutt Babe Ruth
The Orcutt Babe Ruth has scheduled its annual membership meeting and elections to the 2010 board of directors for Sunday, Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m.
The meeting and elections will be held at the Pitchout Indoor Batting Cages, 2305 South A Street in Santa Maria.
Adults that love baseball and working with and for kids are encouraged to attend and support the league by becoming a volunteer.

Casino Knights 2009
On Saturday, Nov. 7 beginning at 6 p.m., St. Joseph High School will hold a fundraiser for athletics called "Casino Knights 2009."
Held in the school gym, Casino Knights will feature gaming and card tables as well as roulette with the opportunity to win several prizes.
The cover charge is $25 per person and includes $1,500 in casino chips to be used at the tables.
No-host drinks and dinner, provided by Bello Forno Catering, will be available and features gourmet pizzas made in an authentic 4,000 pound wood-fired oven.
All monies raised will benefit the sports programs at St. Joseph High.

Santa Maria alumni hoops
Santa Maria High School is hosting an alumni basketabll doubleheader on Friday, Nov. 20 at the school's Wilson Gym.
The first game features the Saints' boys junior varsity and SMHS staff. The JV game tips off at 6 p.m.
The second game, beginning at 7:30, is a match between the Saints' boys varsity and former players - some who played for the Saints all the way back in the 1960s - including 1999 Northern League MVP Mike Gonzales.
Admission prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students and children. The snack bar will be open featuring Marco Polo Pizza.

Guadalupe hoops sign-ups
Guadalupe Youth Basketball sign-ups will be held Nov. 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Mary Buren Elementary School.
The league is open to all boys and girls from Kindergarten through the ninth grade.
The cost is $25 for the first child. There cost for each additional child from the same household is $20.
