With its last out of the game at the plate and trailing a run, Village Hills was staring elimination directly in its face.
Having runners stationed at second and third, Village Hill’s Alex Aguilar sent a single up the middle to complete the comeback, defeating Lompoc National 6-3 in the 11-12 year old District 65 Little League Tournament held at Hal Sagerman Memorial Field.
Down 3-2 to start the top of the sixth, Village Hills’ chances of continuing its tournament run was on life support. After a strikeout, Fletcher Smith worked a walk to give VH a pulse. A sacrifice bunt by Michael Huggins and walk to Josh Miller setup Aguilar’s heroics.
