The Mexican Ladies Social Club's 65th Annual Black and White Ball is slated for Oct. 22 at the Santa Maria Elks.

The formal event, a benefit for the Santa Maria and Guadalupe Boys & Girls Clubs, includes dinner and dancing and costs $75 per person or $135 per couple.

Guests will be entertained with music by Mariachi Imperial during the 6 p.m. cocktail hour and 7 p.m. dinner, then dancing will follow from 8:30 p.m. to midnight to a variety of music performed by the band "Monsanto."

This year seven girls will be competing for the queen title by a Q&A given from a panel of judges. The winner will be announced that evening.

For more information or to make reservations by Oct. 14, call Barbara Fleming at 922-8921, or for Spanish speaking, call Grace Mendoza at 925-6310.
