St. Mary of the Assumption School hosted a night of dinner, dancing and fundraising Saturday, all with a Mardi Gras flair.
The dinner, dance and auction, held this year at the Radisson Hotel, is the school’s largest fundraiser.
School officials will use proceeds raised during the 11th annual event to offset tuition, and fund a shade structure for a newly developed outdoor eating area and school infrastructure.
“Previous Mardi Gras celebrations supported various technology upgrades, new reading programs, establishing the school’s certified league basketball gym, various infrastructures projects in addition to operating expenses,” said Michelle Cox, St. Mary’s principal.
Auction items at the Mardi Gras event included a cruise, jewelry, home decor, art, wine and a wide range of services.
St. Mary of the Assumption School, founded in 1938, is the Santa Maria Valley’s oldest Catholic school. For more information, call the school at 925-6713 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
