Santa Maria Public Library's first movie night of 2018 will feature "Passengers," rated PG-13, at 5 p.m. Monday in Shepard Hall.

This event is free and no tickets are required.

In "Passengers," a spacecraft traveling to a distant colony planet and transporting thousands of people has a malfunction in its sleep chambers. As a result, two passengers in induced hibernation, Jim Preston, played by Chris Pratt, and Aurora Lane, played by Jennifer Lawrence, are awakened 90 years too early.

Seating is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and free freshly popped popcorn will also be available.
