A suspect involved in a gunpoint robbery that occurred in northwest Santa Maria earlier this year was arrested Friday by Santa Maria Police.

Cruz Antonio Guillen was arrested without incident following a tip given directly to the Detective Bureau and Special Enforcement Team through the department's new tipline.

In late January, Guillen, with the help of an accomplice, allegedly robbed a victim at gunpoint at a residence in northwest Santa Maria. Following the tip, the Special Enforcement Team initiated a new investigation, which resulted in Guillen's arrest.

Guillen was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on one count of robbery.
