Santa Maria Police officials on Monday afternoon arrested a suspect wanted in connection to a reported kidnapping and assault that occurred Saturday.
Jose Luque, 30, of Santa Maria, was wanted for alleged kidnapping, child endangerment and parole violation but had evaded arrest until Monday.
On Monday afternoon, Santa Maria Police detectives and members of state law enforcement located Luque at a residence in Guadalupe. He subsequently surrendered and was taken into custody without incident, officials said.
After responding to a domestic violence call on Saturday, officers discovered Luque had reportedly kidnapped and assaulted an unidentified victim, according to the Santa Maria Police Department.
Officials extended their thanks for tips they received from members of the community in an effort to local Luque.
