The city of Santa Maria will accept applications for the position of firefighter beginning at 8 a.m. Oct. 26 to noon Nov. 1.

To be considered for the position, applicants must complete a job application, meet the minimum qualifications and submit required documentation.

The city uses the Firefighter Candidate Testing Center (FCTC), sponsored by the California Firefighters Joint Apprenticeship Committee (Cal-JAC), for the selection process. Applicants will be required to complete and receive a passing score on the (FCTC) written test and a Cal-JAC Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT), before the application period closes.
