A downed power line caused the brush fire that broke out Nov. 24 on north Vandenberg Air Force Base, officials said Tuesday. 

The blaze, dubbed the Encelados fire, sparked shortly after 9 a.m. near Encelados Road, which runs through the base, and charred 380 acres before being fully contained at 6 p.m. Nov. 25.

Santa Barbara County Fire responded, along with the Vandenberg Air Force Base Fire Department.

No facilities were damaged, and no launch facilities were in harm's way, according to the VAFB 30th Space Wing public affairs, adding the fire burned an unimproved area of the base.
