The Santa Maria Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred late Thursday night at the Subway in the 1800 block of North Broadway.

At about 10 p.m., two unknown males entered the restaurant and demanded the cashier give them money.

According to police, one of the men jumped behind the counter to intimidate the restaurant’s employee.

“As they entered, they concealed their faces and demanded money from the employee at the counter,” Santa Maria Police Sgt. Todd Logan said.

Before fleeing the area, the two men took an undisclosed amount of cash from the store.

“The clerk was not injured in the incident,” Logan said.
