Time is running out to purchase discounted tickets to the 113th Annual Santa Barbara County Fair, which this year will include a Navy Blue Angels flight simulator.

The fair, July 14 to 18 at the Santa Maria Fairpark, also will include a simulator that will let visitors sit and pretend to fly a Navy F/A-18 Hornet.

"We/re very excited about this thing," said Dennis Pearson, fairpark CEO, who noted that the simulator is free with paid admission to the fair.

The county fair, with a theme of "Xtreme Summer Fun," is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily at the Santa Maria Fairpark, 937 S. Thornburg St.

Pre-sale admission tickets are available until July 11 at several locations on the Central Coast. They cost ,4 for adults or ,1 for children ages 6-11. Pre-sale wristbands that give an unlimited number of rides on a single day of the fair cost ,16.

They are on sale at Food Maxx Stores in Santa Maria; Maverick Saloon in Santa Maria and Santa Ynez; Mid-State Bank branches in Arroyo Grande, Santa Maria, Orcutt, Guadalupe, Nipomo, Lompoc and Vandenberg Village; Santa Maria Town Center and Postal Service Center in Santa Maria; the Santa Maria Fairpark Ticket Office in Santa Maria; and Super Carniceria La Chiquita Markets in Nipomo, Guadalupe, Santa Maria and Lompoc.

General admission at the gate this year is ,6 for those 12 and older, ,3 for youth ages 6 to 11 and ,3 for seniors 62 years or older. Children 5 and under are admitted free. Fair parking is ,3.

A season pass, good for all five days of the fair, is ,16. Carnival wristbands for unlimited rides on a single day at the fair will sell for ,20 at Butler Carnival ticket booths at the Fairpark.

July 14, opening day, is CoastHills Federal Credit Union Kid/s Day and Dollar Day where admission, parking, and carnival rides cost ,1. Country singing star Gary Allan will be performing on the Main Stage.

July 15 is Home Town Buffet Senior/s Day with Darryl Worley rocking the stage.

July 16 is Wilco Distributors Agricultural Day with Creedence Clearwater Revisited entertaining the crowd.

July 17 is Military and Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. The Village People will perform that evening, and there will also be a Destruction Derby at 7 p.m. The Destruction Derby is a separate ticketed event.

The final day, July 18, is Fiesta Day with Banda Cuisillos performing at the Minetti Arena.

Other fair attractions include the Antique Tractor & Engine Show, Captain Kaleidoscope, chain saw sculpting, hypnotist, Imagination Gallery "Wild Science," Max-Air Snowflyers Big Air Show, Santa Maria Police Department Safety Zone, Trackless Train and Walking Tree Man.
