Classic cars and vendors from across the Central Coast revved up fundraising in Nipomo Sunday during the Automotive Concours event at Monarch Dunes.
More than 1,000 people turned out to admire the cars, food trucks and vendors, all to raise money for Nipomo High School athletics and Nipomo's Food Basket.
Organizers said the event has grown significantly over last year, when they raised $5,500. Last weekend's goal was $20,000.
Nipomo High's cheer coach Jessica Leek said they're grateful for the help from the community.
"All of our athletic programs need funding, Leek said. "We're trying to buy new equipment, new uniforms and anything that can really build all of our programs so the more donations that we get, the better it helps all of us."
Trilogy volunteers say they expect next year's event to be even bigger and welcome people to contact them if they want to get involved.
