A motorcyclist was killed Thursday afternoon in Los Olivos when he collided with a silver Porsche, according to the CHP.
The accident occurred at about 12:15 p.m. on Steele Street, where it connects to Ballard Canyon Road, on the south side of Highway 154, near Foxen Canyon Road.
Traffic in the area was diverted for several hours while officers from the CHP and Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department investigated the accident. Access to Highway 154 was diverted back through Los Olivos to Grand Avenue.
The victim, whose name, age and hometown were not released, was driving a red motorcycle and was headed west towards Ballard Canyon Road at the time of the crash, the CHP said.
The victim was wearing protective gear such as a helmet, jacket, gloves and boots, the CHP said.
After the accident, it appeared the victim landed at least 50 feet away from this motorcycle.
There appeared to be minimal exterior body damage to the Porsche, and the driver of that vehicle apparently did not suffer significant injuries, as he was seen talking with CHP officers.
