Power is out throughout much of the Santa Maria Valley, including at the Santa Maria Public Airport.
More than 26,000 Pacific Gas and Electric customers between Pismo Beach and Lompoc are without power this afternoon as a powerful Pacific storm blew through the area, according to PG&E spokesperson Brandi Ehlers.
Strong gusts downed power lines and combined with rain to blow a number of transformers all over the Central Coast.
Santa Maria has been hardest hit with 14,825 customers without power as of 12:45 p.m. Fallen trees or limbs caused many of the 25 separate outages in the city.
In the Five Cities, more than 11,000 customers are powerless, with 31 outages reported.
Statewide, 150,00 customers have experienced disrupted power and as of midday, 80,000 still were without power.
PG&E had no estimates of how soon power would be restored to the area.
