Community Action Commission's (CAC) Energy Services Program will hold walk-in application days for qualified low income families in Santa Maria and the surrounding areas. If you meet income requirements, you may be eligible to receive a free utility payment.

Community Action Commission of Santa Barbara County (CAC) provides daily hot nutritious lunches to low income seniors from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the following locations: Elwin Mussell Senior Center, Atkinson, Union Plaza, Luis Oasis Senior Center, and Guadalupe Senior Center. There is no charge for the meals, but a suggested donation of $2.75 is appreciated.

If you can spare an hour each Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., a valid CA driver's license and your own vehicle, the Senior Nutrition Program of San Luis Obispo County needs your help. City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department offers an array of services to meet the needs of older adults in the community, and works with community organizations that provide additional programs and services in city facilities. Programs range from lunch programs and low vision evaluations to dance classes. Central Coast Assistive Technology Center offers low cost, vision and hearing programs and services to individuals with permanent or progressive vision or hearing impairments. The Senior Wheels USA Program makes power wheelchairs available at no cost to senior and permanently disabled citizens who qualify. The power wheelchairs are provided to those who can no longer walk or self-propel a manual wheelchair, and who meet additional guidelines of the program. No deposit is required.
