It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Salvador Gascon, 78, who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 23, 2017 in Las Vegas, NV. He was born on December 13, 1938 in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico to Manuel and Julia Gascon. He attended Andrew Hill High School, and graduated from San Jose State College. After serving his country for two years he was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1969. He lived most of his life in San Jose, CA, but settled in Santa Maria, CA in 1992. Salvador, or as many of his family called him, Chava, was a wise man that always wore a smile. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his lovely wife Peggy (Kathy); his son Jon Gascon and his wife Renee, of Las Vegas; his daughter Cristina Powell and her husband Darryl, of Santa Maria; his daughter Angelica Rodriguez and her husband Tony, of Las Vegas; his daughter Lisa Gabriel and her husband Johnny, of Las Vegas and his son Joseph Gascon and his girlfriend Sharon, of San Francisco. He is also survived by his mother Julia Gascon; his brother and sisters, Raul, Julia and Luisa; his eight grandchildren, Vanessa, Marcus, Johnny, Jordon, Matthew, Salvador, Sophia and Isabella; his great-grandson, Jacob; his mother-in-law, Lupe Archer and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Manuel Gascon, his brother Manuel and his sister Maria (Lucy). A memorial service will be held at St. Martin of Tours Parish, 200 O'Connor Drive, San Jose CA on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 10 a.m.
