Perry “Jim” Crush passed away September 9, 2017 at Marian Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 13, 1945 in San Diego. After relocating in 1986 he became (except for a two year detour in Michigan) a life-long Santa Marian.
Jim was a born salesman, selling everything from shoes to cars to his patented “Pocket Towel”. He owned his own business, Express Fore Less Monogramming, in Orcutt.
An avid sportsman, Jim could talk for hours on golf, boxing, hockey and more. He played semi-pro hockey years ago and was a rabid Red Wings fan. His enthusiasm led him to coach his sons' soccer, youth football, and high school golf teams.
But the most important thing in Jim's life was his family. His sons and daughters always were his first concern. Their friends became part of our family. One of his greatest frustrations was not being able to be more active in his grandsons' lives.
Jim touched the lives of so many people. It didn't matter where he went, he always made new friends. He had the biggest heart and his contagious love will live on with all of his family and friends. He is survived by Angie, his wife of 30 years. He has left behind his son Brian Crush(Denese), son Steven Crush(Sarah), daughter Lori Crush(Jonathan), and daughter Becky Grates Segrest(Alex) and his three grandsons; Phillip, Ronan, and Wyatt.
There will be a Celebration of the Life of Jim Crush on September 23rd at our residence.
