Margaret 'Ann' Dawson with family by her side earned her wings on Thursday, January 25, 2018 after a lengthy illness.
Born on the 17th day of November 1930, Ann grew up in Pennsylvania and was the youngest of three children. She pursued a career in nursing which led her to Los Angles in her early twenties for a position as a surgical nurse at Children's hospital. After honing her skills, Ann joined the Air Force as a nurse. After basic training and more schooling, she was stationed at Birddrop AFB in England. While stationed there she met the love of her life, Wray Dawson and they were married. They began their 50 plus year adventure together. They traveled throughout Europe and enjoyed all it offered. She became pregnant with her first child, which forced her to leave the Air Force because at that time you could not be with child and serve, so she was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain.
Upon returning to the United States she set out on her journey as wife, mother, friend and mentor. When her children got older she returned to nursing and worked at many local hospitals, as well as a lengthy career as a nurse for the Lompoc Unified School District.
Ann had many friends and was loved by all who met her. She was a loving caring woman who enriched the hearts and souls of many. She will sorely be missed.
Ann is survived by her sons Timothy and Michael as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
As per Ann's request there will be no services.
