June Elizabeth Kiger, 63, of Santa Maria, CA passed away on February 28, 2018. June was born in Leeds, Yorkshire England on September 22, 1954. She attended schools in Leeds and graduated from William Gascoigne High School in Middleton, Leeds.
After graduating she worked in the wholesale fashion industry. At the age of 19 June migrated to Sydney Australia in 1975. While in Australia she continued to work in the fashion industry and in 1977 she met her future husband, Irvin, and two years later they had their first child, Hannah. June and the family moved to California in 1980. In 1981 they had their second child Benjamin. The family has resided on the central coast for the past 34 years.
June's first love was always her family. She was always the happiest when she was surrounded by her family as well as her extended families. She enjoyed traveling especially after both of their children moved throughout the United States and going back to England to visit family and friends.
For the past 26 years June has worked with Klondike Pizza. The past 22 years June and her husband, Irvin have been in the Santa Maria restaurant where June's infectious smile and personality has impacted many individuals, of whom many have become close friends. She will truly be missed by many especially the extended family of those she worked with in her time at Klondike Pizza.
June is survived by her husband of 37 years, Irvin John Kiger. She is also survived by her daughter Hannah Marts (Michael) of Copperas Cove, TX; her son Benjamin John Kiger of Santa Maria, CA; and her brother Alan and family of Rothwell, Leeds, England.
June was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Emma Lamond.
A rosary will be held at Chapel of Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.
A mass and memorial celebration of June's life will be held Friday, March 9, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Louis de Montfort Church in Santa Maria. A reception will immediately follow at Klondike Pizza, 2059 South Broadway in Santa Maria.
