Friends and family were saddened by the news of the passing of Sandy Oliver at Marian Regional Medical Center on Saturday, September 30, 2017. He was the only child of Vera and George Oliver and lived his whole life in Santa Maria. He attended St. Mary's School, Santa Maria High School, and Allan Hancock College. He and wife Jody were married in 1979.
Sandy loved cars and at an early age purchased a small, two pump service station next to the Santa Maria Inn. He was at one time, the youngest station owner in Santa Barbara County. He soon moved to Peppertree Chevron at the corner of Broadway and Donovan Road where he continued serving the public until he retired several years ago. He loved his work and many of his customers became close, personal friends.
Sandy love God, Santa Maria, his wife and family, his Portuguese Heritage, his dogs, Jocko's, Pepsi, and Santa Maria Style BBQ. Please remember him in your prayers.
We will celebrate Sandy's life on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Magner-Maloney Funeral Home.
Arrangements are in the care of Magner-Maloney Funeral Home and Crematory. Sympathy notes and words of support may be expressed at www.magnermaloney.com.
