SAN LUIS OBISPO, Oct. 26 -- Ten years after a sensational sellout evening in Cal Poly’s Christopher Cohan Center, the SLO Film Fest presents an encore of the original 1925 silent film that inspired “The Phantom of the Opera” Broadway show, Andrew Lloyd Weber’s haunting soundtrack and four subsequent movies. Acclaimed organist Christian Elliott will accompany the legendary film on the Forbes Pipe Organ in Cal Poly’s Performing Arts Center for this Halloween-inspired, family-friendly event at 7:00 p m. SANTA MARIA -- Tri City Sound Chorus, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, invites women who love to sing to join them for the Christmas season. OCEANO -- The Great American Melodrama is spoofing the most famous musical of all time when it brings "The Phantom of the Melodrama" to its stage. Based (very) loosely on "The Phantom of the Opera," the parody gleefully sends up both the Gaston Leroux novel and Andrew Lloyd Weber musical.
