Visual Rhetoric is a juried exhibition in SLOMA's McMeen Gallery highlighting contemporary California sculpture. Presented in conjunction with the Central Coast Sculptors Group, the exhibition will be on view April 6–29, 2018.
About the Juror
Garet Zook, Cal Poly University Art Gallery Specialist, and a sculptor, spent his youth in Ventura, California. He is an alumnus of the Art and Design Department at Cal Poly (2006). After receiving his Masters in sculpture from Mass Art in Boston (2011) he returned to the Central Coast. He has been teaching 3D design and sculpture at Cal Poly since 2014. In addition, he has been the University Art Gallery Specialist since 2015, serving both the department of Art and Design and the department of Architecture. Garet Zook’s
recent artwork explores the interactions between the natural and the man-made, and their coexistence through mimicry, form and materiality.
