The focus of this workshop is working in the studio to increase confidence with color identification and color mixing to capture outdoor light and color. The first day will be spent inside and the following three days will be on location (weather permitting). The plein air painting days will take all the studio study into the field and we will paint from life capturing the natural light. Design and composition, perspective, and palette organization will be addressed. After the workshop, artists will have the tools to create paintings that express their vision.
This is a fast paced class and built on many years of teaching landscape painting. Recommended for intermediate and advanced painters. One extended day includes artist’s studio visit in Cayucos.
