Several editors at the Santa Maria Times have taken on new duties this week.

Managing Editor Dave Bemis has assumed overall responsibility for news operations with the help of Assistant Managing Editor Len Wood.

Associate Editor Marga Cooley will supervise the reporting staff and take responsibility for daily news coverage in the Times while continuing her role as editor of its website, www.santamariatimes.com.

The changes are a result of the departure of Executive Editor Tom Bolton, whose position was eliminated last week.

The Santa Maria Times is the centerpiece of Lee Central Coast Newspapers, the company that also publishes the Lompoc Record, Santa Ynez Valley News, Times-Press-Recorder in Arroyo Grande, Adobe Press in Nipomo, and Space Country Times for Vandenberg Air Force Base.
