SESLOC Federal Credit Union members and staff raised $7,500 in August to help fund the Jack Ready Imagination Park, a universally accessible park for children being built in Nipomo.
During SESLOC’s annual monthlong campaign, members and staff are encouraged to donate to the park, which is being built by Jack’s Helping Hand, a local nonprofit that provides assistance to children with disabilities, illnesses or severe injuries.
Over the past three years, the SESLOC campaign has raised $20,480 for the park, a spokesman for the credit union said.
Jack Ready Imagination Park will be the only universally accessible park between Los Angeles and San Francisco, featuring themed play structures, a therapeutic equestrian center, a sensory garden and other facilities.
When completed, it will allow children with disabilities to play alongside able-bodied friends and relatives, the spokesman said.
The project is expected to cost between $1 million and $2 million. For more information about the park, visit jackshelpinghand.org.
